Hobbs Turf Farm is a solid five star in my book. The staff I spoke with were very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. The delivery person was great to work with! The turf was very good looking. I hope to get many years of use out of the turf. I highly recommend this company and their product.
We called Hobbs Turf Farm in a pinch when we could not pickup from another sod farm. Hobbs Turf Farm let us come pick it up. We will be using Hobbs Turf Farm from now on! Plus they saved us $300 by being less expensive.
Literally the best, freshest, greenest grass I could eved hope for. I would sleep on this grass. Their service is out of this world! The friendliest staff you will ever meet. I’m not usually one for giving out 5 stars, but Hobbs Turf Farms… you deserve it.
Outstanding quality turf with dense grass development, far superior to the often half-dead grass from a “big box store.” Staff are courteous and helpful. They ask that you call ahead with square footage of what you will need so they can prepare the turf for you.

Common Questions About Sod in Wyoming
Does your Kentucky Bluegrass handle the cold winters and high altitude of Wyoming?
Yes! Our specific Kentucky Bluegrass blend is NTEP-rated and grown to thrive in the Intermountain West’s unique climate. Whether you live in the high elevation of Star Valley or the windy plains of Rock Springs, our sod is exceptionally cold-hardy and durable. It is designed to survive harsh Wyoming winters and “green up” quickly in the spring, providing a lush, vibrant lawn year after year.
Which areas in Wyoming do you serve for delivery and installation?
Hobbs Turf Farms provides direct farm-to-site delivery and professional installation services throughout Southwest Wyoming. Our primary service areas include Star Valley, Evanston, and Rock Springs, as well as Albany, Carbon, Lincoln, and Sweetwater Counties. Because we are a family-owned farm and not a broker, we handle the entire process to ensure your sod arrives fresh and is installed correctly for the best long-term results.
When is the best time of year to install sod in Wyoming?
In Wyoming, the best times for installation are typically late spring/early summer (once the ground has thawed) and early fall (late August through September). These cooler windows allow the roots to establish before the extreme heat of summer or the deep freezes of winter. However, because our Kentucky Bluegrass is highly resilient, it can be installed any time during the growing season as long as you can provide consistent water for the first 2-3 weeks.
